Switching to Sogetel IP telephony is a lot easier than you think

Can I keep my current phone numbers?

Yes, Sogetel can transfer phone numbers from several providers. Certain conditions apply.

Can I add or remove extension numbers as my company grows?

Absolutely. Two key features of the TIPH service are its flexibility and scalability. We are committed to meeting your business’s evolving needs.

Will my system be updated automatically?

Yes. Since the system is hosted by Sogetel, you’ll receive updates and new features as they’re rolled out, ensuring your telephony system stays at the cutting edge of technology.

Do I need special equipment?

Hosted telephony requires a high-speed internet connection at minimum. The phones connect to your company network. To meet high-quality telephony standards, some of your networking equipment (switches or routers) may need an upgrade.

Should I keep an analog line?

No phone line is required for the hosted telephony service. However, certain analog devices connected to your current PBX system may require an analog line. It is possible to connect these devices to your new telephony system, but in some cases, using an analog line may be recommended.

Will I have to buy new phones?

You will need to acquire phones from Sogetel, either by renting or purchasing them.

Are there any up-front costs or capital expenditures involved with IP telephony?

Since the telephony service is hosted, there are no hardware or capital expenses required to acquire the system. However, you should budget for service installation fees (per user) and, depending on your network’s topology, potential upgrades to your networking equipment and/or cabling for the phones.
